Custom software and SaaS development

When an off-the-shelf tool leaves important gaps, custom software can bring the workflow together. We build business tools and subscription products around the people, tasks and information involved.

Discuss your project

Understand the workflow first

Repeated manual steps, duplicated data and unclear handoffs are useful clues, but a new system should have a defined job. We map the current process, decide what should change and agree how the result will be checked before adding complexity.

What the work can include

  • A clear scope covering roles, workflows and the information the tool needs.
  • Interfaces and business logic for the agreed tasks.
  • Accounts, integrations or subscription features where they are part of the agreed scope.
  • A plan for deployment, support, backups and future changes appropriate to the system.

How we work

A clear route through the project.

  1. Walk through the current process and identify its most costly or frustrating steps.
  2. Build and review a focused version with the people who will use it.
  3. Test the agreed workflows and prepare the operational handover before launch.

From our work

Our application work includes FPL Tools, a browser-based product for exploring Fantasy Premier League information.

Common questions

Do we need to replace every existing tool?

No. An integration or a small internal tool may solve the problem more economically than replacing the whole process. We assess that before agreeing a build.

Can a project grow into a subscription product?

Yes, where that fits the idea. Billing, access, customer support and ongoing operation need to be considered alongside the product itself and included explicitly in the scope.
